Concerts Makes Me Cry

On the New York Times podcast, Popcast, during their final episode of 2018, Joe Coscarelli explains why he sometimes gets misty-eyed listening to music. For him, it is not a particular song that brings it on, but concerts, or rather, the audience that attends them, “Seeing large groups of people enjoy something in, like, the most earnest way.” 

I am the first person to call myself sensitive, not that I think it is a bad thing, mostly it is just plain fact. I am a known crier when it comes to Google commercials, sappy movies, and 60 Minutes segments. My first cry of 2019 was to the Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour streaming on Netflix.

We Love To Read About Ourselves

I first downloaded Spotify in Fall of 2015, I had just gone away to college and needed something to fill the silence of everyday life. Drawn to the personalized features Spotify offered, I was quick to check out the recommendations I received via "Discovery Weekly" and to follow the playlists my friends created. It's interesting that an online streaming service was able to make me feel like I was part of a community, but it did and at a time in my life when I craved connection.
